Will Andy Reid finally win a Super Bowl this season?

Winning nine out their first ten games has been the easy part for the Kansas City Chiefs and – rightfully so, their fans are thinking Super Bowl.

QB Patrick Mahomes is the real deal, but the first year starter will be facing a different kind of challenge come playoff time. How to deal with the Super Bowl expectations will be the next hurdle, plus…

The quick-passing plays to get the football in the hands of playmakers and deep throws down the field opportunities are going to be fewer.

The playoffs is where head coach Andy Reid will really need to come through for his young QB, in spite of his track record.

There is no will get ’em next week in the playoffs, where coaches will make adjustments and game plans after studying film of the young phenom.

Ignore all the obligatory NFL Andy Reid Coaching Tree stories. These are the facts and as they say in courtrooms everywhere…they’re undisputed:

a) Yes! Reid has mentor other good coaches and they have move on to accomplish great things with other teams in the NFL, but…

b) No! Reid does not have a good post-season record.

Personally speaking I have seen this act before.

When he coached the Philadelphia Eagles, team owner Jeffrey Lurie went out and got the best team that money can buy, which was labeled around the NFL as THE Super Team, but Reid coach them to 8-8 in 2011 and 4-12 in 2012 records, so Jeffrey Lurie fired him for underachieving.

Hence my NFL Power Ranking:

No.2 – Kansas City Chiefs > The hype is real, but Andy Reid is their head coach and his track record speaks for itself.

My advice to all Kansas City Chiefs’ fans?

Keep your fingers crossed ’till you see Patrick Mahomes lifting the Vince Lombardi Trophy!
