Vikings vs. Rams: Thursday Night Preview and Prediction

The 3-0, LA Rams will host the 1-1-1 Minnesota Vikings, Thursday night.

(8:20 PM Eastern on Fox)

LA Rams:

The Rams are coming off an impressive 35-23 victory over the LA Chargers. Defensive back Aqib Talib has been placed on injured reserve. He will require surgery and the team is not certain when he will be able to return. DB, Marcus Peters is also nursing a calf injury. Todd Gurley, continues to be the best two-way -back in the NFL. Gurley is the only player in the league with over 2,000 scrimmage yards and 20 touchdowns in the last two season. Brandin Cook and Robert Woods have 38 combined receptions and Cooper has 15 catches and 2 touchdowns. Jared Goff is completing 70% of his passes and has thrown for over 900 yards and 6 touchdowns.

MN Vikings:

The Vikings went into Sunday’s home game as a 16.5 point favorite over the Buffalo Bills. They were down 27-0 at halftime and lost the game 27-0. It was the Bills first win of the season. Minnesota has not looked impressive in their first three games. Adam Theilen has been the most consistent wide receiver in all of football. He is the 1st Vikings player to start the year with three straight 100-yard games. Stefon Digs has 16 catches and 3 touchdowns. Free Agent QB, Kirk Cousins has passed for over 900 yards and has 7 TD’s. The problem with this team has been their running game. Dalvin Cook is leading the team in rushing with 78 yards in 3 games.

The last time these two teams met was November 19, 2017. The Vikings won 24-7.

I expect this game to be high scoring. The Vikings will try and establish the running game early on and that won’t work. Cousins will get 40 passing attempts and try to exploit and injured Rams secondary. The Rams are the only team in the NFL to be ranked in the top 4 in both scoring offense and defense.

The Kansas City Chiefs and the Rams have the best offense in the NFL right now.  LA has scored, 23, 33, and 34 points in their first three contests. They are the most talented team in the league on both sides of the ball.

LA takes over this game in the 2nd half.

Rams 37 Vikings 27
