This could have been the craziest week in the history of the NFL. Road teams pulled off major upsets.

5 Things We Learned About Week 4 In The NFL:

#5) The Roller Coaster Ride Continues For The Titans:

The Tennessee Titans flew into Atlanta on a 2 game losing streak. The 1-2 Titans, owned the game from start to finish. Marcus Mariota was 14-19, 182 yards and threw 3 touchdowns in the first half. Tennessee won the game 24-10. Derek Henry rushed for 100 yards and rookie WR, AJ Brown, had 2 touchdown catches. Matt Ryan threw for 397 yards but didn’t have a touchdown pass. Julio Jones had 4 catches for 52 yards and the Falcons had 58 rushing yards.

When Mariota throws on first down he is one of the most accurate passers in the NFL. The Titans used the pass to set up the run. If they want long term-success and a playoff run, this is what the have to do when they game plan. The former Oregon Duck, Heisman Trophy Winner, is the only quarterback to start every game of the season and not have a turnover.
he Titans improved to 62-1, when leading by 17 or more at half-time.

4) Did The Browns Silence Their Critics?:

The Cleveland Browns went into Baltimore and physically dominated the Baltimore Ravens, 40-25. John Harbaugh was 18-2 at home, in September, before this loss. Baker Mayfield threw for 342 yards and Jarvis Landry had 8 catches for 167 yards. The story of this game was Nick Chubb. He rushed 20 times for 165 yards and 4 touchdowns. The Browns used Chubb the way he should be used. Establish the run to set up the pass. The Browns will face the SF 49ers next week on Monday night. Something to look for, Mayfeild is 3-9 when he throws the ball 32 or more times. He is 6-0 when he throws under 32 times per game.

#3) What Happened To The LA Rams?:

The Rams gave up 28 points in the first half, against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. They gave up 27 points in the second half and lost the game, 55-40. Jamies Winston had 4 touchdown passes and Jared Goff had 3 interceptions and 1 fumble. Under no circumstances should a Super Bowl contending team give up 55 points at home. The talent is there in LA, so the coaching staff has to make sure their message is being heard loud and clear. If the players don’t respond, bench them. Send a message to your veteran team ,that no one’s job is safe. This loss was so bad, it was the first time a 3-0 team gave up over 54 points in a game.

#2) The Bears Defense is Scary:

Over the past 5 years the NFL has implemented dozens of rule changes that favor the offense and allow more scoring, don’t tell that to the Bears. The monsters of the midway have allowed, 3, 14, 15 and 6 points. The Bears are off to a 3-1 record and they are doing it without a good offense. The Bears defense is ranked 3rd against the run, 2nd in points allowed and 3rd in 3rd down percentage. This team lost their defensive coordinator to the Denver Broncos but they appear to be better than last year. If Chicago can get production out of their offense, they can challenge for the NFC Championship.

#1) Is This The Best Team Bill Belichick Has Ever Had in New England?

As good as the Chicago Bears defense has been, the Patriots have been better. Everyone knows about Tom Brady and New England’s offense but here are the Patriots defensive stats:

#1 giving up only 243 yards per game.
#2 giving up only 181.8 passing yards per game.
#2 giving up only 63 rushing yards per game.
#1 in point against, giving up only 6.6 points per game.
#1 in 3rd down conversions, 13.5%.

New England can beat opponents 35-31 or 10-3. They are 4-0 and could win 14 or 15 games this season.

Bonus Coverage:

Raiders linebacker Vontaze Burfict was suspended for the rest of the season. This is the 4th time he has been suspended for an illegal hit or PED use.

Kyle Allen of Carolina has now won his first three games on the road. The only other quarterbacks to do that in the history of the NFL… Patrick Mahomes and Jeff Hostetler of the New York Giants.

The Detroit Lions lost to the Kansas City 34-30. The Chiefs won despite Patrick Mahomes not throwing a touchdown pass. Matt Patricia has done a nice job with this Lions team but their schedule is not easy.

The Rams/Bucs game was the first time in the Super Bowl Era that the two kickers made FG’s of 58 yards.

Bucs LB, Shaquille Barrett has 9 sacks, 3 forced fumbles, 1 interceptions and 16 tackles in 4 games.

What happened to the Denver Defense? Leonard Fournette rushed for 225 yards on 29 carries.

The Cowboys lost to the New Orleans Saints, But both teams should make the post-season.
