- The (11-6) Houston Texans will travel to Kansas City to take on The (12-4) Chiefs.
- Sunday, 3:05 PM on CBS.
- The Chiefs are a 9.5 point favorite.
Houston needed a frantic second half comeback to defeat a young, well coached Buffalo Bills team, 22-19. After trailing 16-0, The Texans outscored Buffalo 22-3 to win the game in overtime. Deshaun Watson carried this team to a playoff victory. He completed 20 of 25 passes for 247 yards and threw 1 touchdown pass. Watson also led his team in rushing with 55 yards. DeAndre Hopkins caught 6 balls for 90 yards. The Texans had three sacks on the day. J.J. Watt and Whitney Mercilus were putting pressure on Josh Allen the entire second half.
Over the past two months of the season, The Chiefs have had one of the best defenses in the NFL. Over their past 5 games, Kansas City has allowed 9,16,3,3 and 21 points. This defensive unit has gotten much better over the course the year and no one is talking about it.
Last season’s MVP, Patrick Mahomes battled threw some injuries but still have a very good year. He threw for over 4,000 yards, had 26 touchdowns passes, only 5 interceptions and a QB rating of 105.3. Travis Kelce and Tyreek Hill combined for 155 catches and 12 touchdowns. The Chiefs use running back by committee and it hasn’t been effective. They finished 23rd in the NFL averaging 98.1 yards per game.
The Chiefs went 12-4 for a reason. They are very good on both sides of the ball. Watson and Watt will make a few plays here and there, but the advantage talent wise and in coaching, goes to Kansas City. Bill O’Brien has never had a signature win for a reason.
Chiefs win 34-23.
