The (12-5) Seattle Seahawks will travel to Green Bay on Sunday to take on the (13-3) Packers.
Sunday, 6:40 PM on Fox TV.
The Packers are favored by 4 points.
There has been a lot of changes on this Seattle Seahawks team over the past few seasons. Two things have remained constant. Pete Carroll and Russell Wilson continue to be one of the best head coach/quarterback combinations in the NFL. Wilson completed 66% of his passes, threw for over 4,100 yards and had 34 total touchdowns and only 5 interceptions. Chris Carson and Rashaad Penny our both out for the season. Travis Homer and Marshawn Lynch rushed for only 19 yards on 17 carries against the Eagles last weekend. DK Metcalf had 7 catches for 160 yards and one touchdown receptions.
This Seahawks defense is not an elite unit. They are ranked 26th, giving up 381 yards per game and 27th in passing yards. They had 28 sacks on the year but no one on their defense accumulated more than 4 sacks.
The Packers finished the season 13-3 and swept the NFC North, going 6-0 in their division. Aaron Jones has been one of the best offensive players in the NFL. He rushed 1,084 yards and had 19 total touchdowns. In only 12 games, Devante Adams had 83 catches and 997 yards. Arron Rodgers threw for over 4,000 yards, 26 touchdowns and only 4 interceptions.
The Packers haven’t been great defensively but they have playmakers all over the field. Blake Martinez had 155 tackles, Za’Darius Smith and Preston Smith combined for 25 sacks. Green Bay has caused 17 interceptions on the season as well
Despite going 13-3, the Packers haven’t gotten respect all season long. Aaron Jones will have a big game against the Seahawks and the Smith brothers will reek havoc in Seattle’s backfield. This is a game that Russell Wilson will have to be the best player on the field for 4 quarters to win. I don’t see that happening, Packers have too many play makers.
Green Bay wins 31-23
