Game plan against the New York Jets was pretty simple.

Make plays and dominate from the start.

The pre-game huddle speech among players and their captains, most likely sounded a lot less formal and something like this:

“Let’s crush any hopes they have early and send ’em right back home. This is our house and they don’t want any of this smoke!”

Why Eagles won…

A touchdown and a Pick Six to end 1st quarter with 14-0 lead was all needed and the outcome was never in any doubt there after.

Eagles consistently started offensive drives near the 50 yard line and took a decisive 21-0 halftime lead, fueled by Nathan Gerry’s Pick Six.

We were not going to learn very much about the Eagles in terms of the bigger picture in a game against the New York Jets anyway.

Heading into the 4th quarter with a comfortable a 24-0 lead in hand, it was time start looking at next week’s oponent as the Eagles’ defense appeared to be well on it’s way to outscore the offensive unit.

They were coming after Jets’ quarterbacks – Luke Falk and David Fales, as if they owed them money.

Can not imagine where the Jets would be without that offensive mastermind head coach Adam Gase.

Adam Gase pathetic game plan, never – at any point during game, threaten Eagles’ defense, which entered the game with an NFL-Low three sacks.

But somehow they just overwhelmed the Jets’ offensive line for a total of 10.

Hell, the Eagles defense got more sacks than Jets got points!

Player of the game…

Brandon Graham, who set a career high with 3 sacks total.

Surprise performance: Orlando Scandrick.

The veteran cornerback watched from his couch for the first four weeks of season.

After Eagles’ secondary was hit hard by injuries, the Eagles gave Orlando a call, and he delivered with two sacks, two forced fumbles and a 44-yard fumble return for a touchdown.

Welcome to Philly, Orlando….great to have you on board.
