Lots of questionable play calling, self-inflected wounds and a 20-10 first half deficit heading into the locker-rooms, have basically put Eagles Nation’s Super Bowl dreams in great jeopardy.

Why they lost?

  • Philadelphia Eagles needed to acquire a premium pass rusher because going into the regular season, it was obvious Fletcher Cox was not healthy and was going to be ineffective. The argument that they had other young pass rushers, was simply flawed.

  • Tim Jernigan is the only Eagles’ defensive lineman with a sack through three games this season and the team has only 2 total.

  • The Eagles’ defense is ruining everyone’s hopes for a good season.

Quarterback Carson Wentz – god bless his soul – is an absolute warrior, but the fact that he had to make two touchdown saving tackles in this game and then on top of it, also had to do his job too, speaks for itself.

The last two games have been lost on lack of execution. The team’s skill position players have now fail in back to back games.

Carson Wentz has to be still nursing some kind injury.

That would explain the Philadelphia Eagles’ decision to have three active quarterbacks for the game against the Detroit Lions, when they were short at so many other positions because other injuries and could not hold practice.

Player of the game?

  • Detroit Lions’ cornerback Rashaan Melvin, who defended Philadelphia Eagles’ wide receiver J.J. Arcega-Whiteside on the last play of the game.

  • Despite every effort made on the part of the Lions, they still beat the Eagles.

NFL officiating crews just continue to make terrible or miss calls, game after game.

They miss an obvious and vicious face mask pull by Lions’ safety Miles Killebrew, in which he rip the helmet right off the head of Eagles’ running back Miles Sanders.

Up next?

The Green Bay Packers at their house.

Not a forgone conclusion lost, but a road game on a short week against a very good team, you do the math!

Thanks to one bad Sunday afternoon, Thursday’s game has gone from a nice-to-have win to a must-win for the Eagles.
