In a interceptions plagued primetime matchup, Matt Ryan and the Atlanta Falcons ultimately got the better of Carson Wentz.

Why Philadelphia lost?

  •  In two weeks the Philadelphia Eagles have score a grand total of zero points in the first quarter and a total of 13-first-half-points.

  • As said before: to keep expecting to come from behind in living on the edge-dramatic fashion it is not a good game plan in order to win games in the NFL.

  • Carson Wentz look as if perhaps was going to get back in the injury list for the 3rd year in row, but the sight of his backup, Josh McCowan, making a couple completions must have brought memories of Nick Foles and he came back in the game.

  • NFL teams not letting their starters play at all in the preseason is a fatal decision. Players for the most part are rusty, not in shape, competition for the majority of first 2 regular season games has been awful and players are getting injured nonetheless.

  • The NFC East division title will not be decided until well after mid-season. It is the only division in the NFL  in which every team has won a Super Bowl. That being said if the Miami Dolphins are tanking then…What do you call what the New York Giants were doing continuing have Eli Manning as their starting quarterback?

Player of the game?

  • Julio Jones

You could had bet the house and both family cars that Julio was going to have a big game, after his less than stellar game in Week 1.

On fourth-and-3 at the Falcons 46 with the game still up for grabs, Julio dropped behind the line to haul in Matt Ryan’s short pass, got a crunching block from left tackle Jake Matthews out on the edge and took off down the sideline, easily outrunning Rodney McLeod and Andrew Sendejo without being touched – perhaps even breaking the sound barrier! He crossed into the end zone and kept right on going, disappearing down the tunnel.

Next Opponent?

  • Philadelphia Eagles return home next Sunday to host the Detroit Lions in the first meeting between the teams since 2016.
