Philadelphia Eagles Week 1

Philadelphia 32 Washington 27

By: Julio Olmo

Philadelphia Eagles’ quarterback Carson Wentz’s talent has never been in question, is staying healthy what worries Eagles Nation.

Even spotting the Washington Redskins a 13-point halftime lead did not concern the faithful.

Why they won?

  • Carson Wentz threw for a pair of deep touchdown passes to DeSean Jackson.

  • The ageless wonder, Darren Sproles hammered in a two point conversation and the Philadelphia Eagles overcame a 17-point deficit to beat the Washington Redskins 32 – 27 on Sunday.

  • Carson Wentz threw for a total of 313 yards and three TDs, in his first game back since Week 14 of last season after not taking a single snap in the preseason.

Player of the Game?

  • DeSean Jackson without doubt.

D-Jax torched the Redskins with 2 TDs of 50+ yards and had a total of eight catches for 154 yards in his homecoming, as the Eagles offense racked up 436 total yards.

That genius former Eagles head coach, Chip Kelly – who is now doing such a great job at UCLA, cut DeSean after his third Pro Bowl season in 2013.

But D-Jax picked up where he left off six years ago and showed no signs of slowing down at age 32.

Welcome home, player!

Who’s next?

  • Philadelphia Eagles (1 -0) at Atlanta Falcons (0-1).
