The Philadelphia 76ers will travel to Toronto on Saturday for the 1st game of their Eastern Conference playoff matchup. Both of these teams received an early “wake up call” in the post-season. Philadelphia lost the first game of their playoff series against the Brooklyn Nets, 111-102. The Raptors lost their opening game as well. The Orlando Magic shocked them, defeated the Toronto at home,104-101. Both teams made their adjustments and won 4 straight to move on to the 2nd round.
The 76ers are led by Joel Embiid. When he is healthy, the former Kansas Jay Hawk has been one of the best players in the post-season. In 4 games he has averaged 24 points, 13 rebounds and 2.8 blocks per game. The rest of the 76ers starting lineup are all averaging over 13.5 points per game. James Enis III, Mike Scott and Boban Marjanovic have been great off the bench.
The Raptors have been a 2-man wrecking crew. Kawhi Leonard and Pascal Siakam are averaging 50 points, 11.6 rebounds, and 6 assists per game. Both can be lock down defenders as well.
The 76ers have the best starting 5 in the NBA. Their 5th option,JJ Redick, had 26 points in game 3 against the Nets. Redick can light it up from the 3-point line and carry his team on any night.
The Raptors have 2 great stars who can make plays on offense and defense. The rest are just role players. Does anyone have faith in Kyle Lowery scoring 20 points in a crucial game 5?
I am normally very aggressive with my predictions but I have a caveat, If Embiid misses 1 or 2 games, the 76ers can’t win. He must play in every game. It is very hard to bet against Kawhi Leonard but I am doing it in this series.
Philadelphia has too many play makers and too many scorers to lose this series.
The 76ers beat the Raptors 4 games to 2.
