5 Things We Learned About Week 16:

5) Same old Tennessee Titans?:

Ryan Tannehill has played very well since he was named the starting quarterback for Marcus Mariota. There are 2 reasons for this:

1) Titans offensive line wasn’t healthy when Mariota was the starter.
2) Tannehill’s QB style fits the offensive Mike Vrabel wants to run.

Last season, with Mariota as the starter, the Titans finished with a record of 9-7. They are now 8-7 going into their final week. The Problem has never been who plays QB, its Vrabel. In a bad division, this should have been the year Tennessee took a step forward.

4) Watch out for the Kansas City Chiefs:

Something is happening in Kansas City. The Chiefs defeated the Bears Sunday Night, 26-3. They have won 5 straight games and during that span they have only given up 17, 9, 16, 3 and 3 points. Patrick Mahomes is an all-world talent on offense, but it is their defense that is winning games. The Chiefs are my “sleeper-pick” to get to the Super Bowl.

3) How do you stop New England?:

The Patriots defeated the Buffalo Bills, 24-17 on Saturday afternoon. New England outscored Buffalo, 11-0 in the 4th quarter. For all their “so-called” problems, the Patriots are 12-3. Does anyone believe the Patriots won’t be favored in every playoff game in the AFC? No one wants to play this team.

2) How do you re-sign Jameis Winston in Tampa Bay?:

The Houston Texans went into to Tampa Bay and won a close game vs. the Buccaneers, 23-20. Winston was 25-48, passed for 335 yards, had 1 touchdown, 4 interceptions and had a passer rating was 46.8. Winston was terrible and single handedly cost his team the victory. This wasn’t the first time he made his team lose. Winston has 31 touchdowns 28 interceptions and 9 fumbles. He is a turnover machine and the Bucs should part ways with the former NO.1 draft pick.

1) It is over in Dallas?:

The (7-8) Dallas Cowboys lost to the Philadelphia Eagles, 17-9. The problem with the Cowboys is Jerry Jones and Jason Garrett. Dallas is 2-5 in their last 7 games and it looks like Garrett has lost the locker room. If the Eagles beat the Giants next week they are in the playoffs and the Cowboys are out. Whether Dallas makes the playoffs or not, Garrett will not be returning to the sidelines next year. Does anyone have confidence that Jones will hire the right man for the job?

Bonus Coverage:

The Green Bay Packers clinched the NFC North with an impressive 23-10 victory over the Minnesota Vikings. The Packers are now 12-3 while the Vikings fell to 10-5. It was Minnesota’s first loss at home this season. The Packers defense dominated the game, they held the Vikings to 7 first downs. That was their lowest total since 1971.

The Baltimore Ravens clinched home field advantage throughout the AFC playoffs.

The last time the Detroit Lions won a game was October, 27th. They have lost 8 games in a row and their head coach and general manager will return next year. The Lions have won 1 playoff game since 1957. They are beyond incompetent.

The Seattle Seahawks lost to the Arizona Cardinals, 27-13. This was a terrible loss for the Seahawks. They were fighting for home field advantage throughout the post-season. The Seahawks are only winning because of Russell Wilson. Their offensive line is below average, their defense is ranked 26th in total yards and they only had no pro-bowl players on offense. I don’t expect them to be a legitimate Super Bowl threat. Too many injuries and not enough depth in Seattle.

Remember when Philadelphia fans thought Nick Foles was better than Carson Wentz? Foles is sitting behind Gardner Minshew and Wentz is carry an Eagles team that has very few offensive weapons. Over his past 4 games, Wentz is averaging over 300 yards per game and has 9 passing touchdowns and only 1 interception.

Ryan Fitzpatrick became the first QB in the history of the NFL to throw for 4 or more touchdown passes in a game, for 5 different teams.
