Is it 1964 or 1969? That was the last time the Cleveland Browns and New York Jets won the NFL Title respectively. The Browns and the Jets have dominated sports talk radio, and television shows based on their free agency moves. On paper, all of these moves look like “a can’t miss” but, both teams have very serious questions.
From 1984 to 1988 Marty Schottenheimer had a record of 44-27. He is the last Cleveland football coach to have a winning record. Bill Belichick compiled a record of 36-44.The Browns hired Freddie Kitchens, a man with zero head coaching experience. National syndicated talk shot host, Colin Cowherd, keeps saying all the pressure is on quarterback Baker Mayfield now. I disagree 100%. The pressure is on Kitchens, the Browns have surrounded him with a plethora of talent and the pressure is on for them to win next year. The Jets hired Adam Gase. The former Miami Dolphins coach compiled a 23-25 record in 3 years as the Dolphins coach. The pressure is on him as well.
Winners and Losers of Free Agency:
The Cleveland Browns:
The Browns could have a better offense than the Kansas City Chiefs next season.
QB: Baker Mayfield
RB: Nick Chubb
WR: Odell Beckham Jr.
WR: Jarvis Landry
TE: David Njoku
The Browns also signed Kareem Hunt who is on the Commissioner’s exempt list
Cleveland acquired Olivier Vernon and Sheldon Richardson to booster their defense.
Cleveland gets an A Rating.

New York Jets:
The Jets signed a top 3 running back and a top 3 linebacker in the past few days.
The Jets acquired Le’Veon Bell. The former Pittsburgh Steelers running back is one of the best dual threats in the NFL. In 2017, Bell rushed for over 1,200 yards and caught 85 passes out of the backfield.
Gang Green also signed Linebacker CJ Mosely. The Former Alabama Crimson Tide stand out is only 26-years-old. He is a 4-time pro-bowl selection.
New York also signed wide receiver, Jamison Crowder. The Former Redskins player should provide consistency in the slot position for Sam Darnold.
The Jets get a B+ rating.
Green Bay Packers:
How do you keep the best offensive player in the NFL, Aaron Rodgers, on the field. You strength a defense that was ranked 22nd last year, giving up 22 points per game. The Packers went out and bolstered a defense that was in drastic need of a make over.
Green Bay signed:
Adrian Amos (Safety from the Bears).
Za”Darius Smith (Linebacker from the Ravens).
PrestonSmith (Linebacker from the Redskins).
They also signed, Billy Turner a quality offensive lineman from the Denver Broncos.
The Packers get a B grade.
Bonus Coverage:

Both the 49ers and Raiders have improved their teams but they are in very tough divisions.
The Giants lost Odell Beckham Jr. and Landon Collins, yet they still want to hold on to Eli Manning. The Colts had a much easier time parting ways with Peyton Manning. Eli has been a very good pro quarterback and won 2 Super Bowls but he is a “shot fighter” Giants should draft a QB with their first round pick. Are the Giants tanking already? Asking for a friend.
The Patriots have up to 12 first round draft picks. I would not be surprised if they do something they rarely do, Trade up in the draft.
