Spread: 49ers are favored by 7.5 points.
The Packers lost to the 49ers, 37-8 on November 24th. The 49ers dominated that game from start to finish. They held Aaron Rodgers to 104 passing yards and led 23-0 at halftime.
The Packers are the least respected,14-3, team in the history of the NFL. They went 6-0 in the NFC North and they have the best “Big-3” remaining in the playoffs. Aaron Rodgers threw for over 4,000 yards, 26 touchdowns and only 4 interceptions. Devante Adams had 83 receptions in 12 games. Aaron Jones is the best running back no one outside of Wisconsin knows about. He rushed for 1,084 yards and 16 touchdowns. Jones was second on the team with 49 receptions.
The Packers defense hasn’t been great, but they are good in situations. Za’Darius Smith and Preston Smith had 25.5 sacks on the season. Green Bay has gotten timely turnovers and sacks when their team needed it most.
The 49ers are built to run the ball. Tevin Colman had 22 carries for 105 yards in their 27-10 victory of the Minnesota Vikings. Jimmy Garoppolo has been the perfect compliment to the running game. He completed 69% of his passes and threw for 27 touchdowns and 13 interceptions. George Kittle is the best Tight end in the league. In 14 games, he had 85 receptions for 1,053 yards.
San Francisco held Minnesota to 21 rushing yards. This team has the best front 7 in the history of the National Football League. They can beat you with speed, power and in their game planning. Arik Armstead, Nick Bosa, DeForest Buckner, and Dee Ford had 33 combined sacks on the year.
The 49ers were 2nd in the league, averaging 144.1 yards per game. Their trio of running backs averaged 4.6 yards per carry. This is a team that wears you down on offense and beats you up on defense. I have gone through every scenario and crunched the numbers like the movie, ” A Beautiful Mind.”
I want the Packers to win but no matter how hard I try, the numbers don’t add up.
