We are 60 games into the NBA regular season. Who will win the 2020 MVP Award?

Top 5 MVP candidates:

#5) Jason Tatum, Boston Celtics:

Over the past five games, against the Clippers, Timberwolves, Lakers, Portland and Utah, Tatum has scored 39, 28, 41, 36 and 33 points. Tatum is only 21 years old, but he has become the go-to-guy for the Celtics. He is averaging 23.3 points per game. 7.0 rebounds and 2.9 assists. He will be a nightmare matchup for anyone in the Eastern Conference come playoff time. Boston and Tatum are better without, Kyrie Irving.

#4) Luka Doncic, Dallas Mavericks:

The Dallas Mavericks are 36-23 and will make the post-season.  Doncic has been better than anyone expected.  The 20-year-old is averaging 28.7 points, 8.7 assists, 9.6 rebounds and 1 steal per game. With Kristaps Porzigins and Doncic being the number 1 and 2 option in Dallas, the Mavericks future looks bright.

#3) Giannis Antetokounmpo, Milwaukee Bucks :

With 21 games left to play in the regular season, the Milwaukee Bucks have clinched a playoff sport. Milwaukee could lose every game the rest of the way and they would still make the post-season. The man they call, “The Greek Freak” is averaging 29.7 points, 13.7 rebounds, 5.8 assists, 1.1 blocks, 1.1 steals and he is shooting 31% from three- point range. Giannis has improved every year he has been in the NBA  and the Bucks are primed to make a trip to the Finals.

#2) Chris Paul, Oklahoma City Thunder:

Over the past few years, the Thunder have lost players, James Harden, Kevin Durant, Russell Westbrook, Paul George, Serge Ibaka and Enes Kanter. This team was supposed to be in rebuilding mode. If the season ended today., the Thunder would be the 5-seed in the Western Conference. Chris Paul has been one of the best point guards in the NBA all season long. He has provided leadership on and off the field. Paul is averaging 17.5 points, 6.7 assists, 5.1 rebounds and 1.5 steals a game. No one expected this team to win more than 30 games this season and they are 36-22. Paul and head coach Billy Donovan deserve all the credit in the world. Paul should get some MVP votes. No one has done more for their franchise than the former Wake Forest star.

#1) LeBron James, Los Angeles Lakers:

The Lakers are 1st in the Western Conference with a record of 47-13. They are 6 games ahead of the Denver Nuggets and LA Clippers. LeBron James is leading the NBA, averaging 10.6 assists per game. He is also averaging 25.5 points and 7.7 rebounds a game.  He is shooting 49.4% from the floor and 33% from beyond the arc. James is playing the best basketball of his career and the team chemistry on the Lakers is amazing. The Lakers are built for the playoffs but they are dominating the regular season. That is a direct reflection of their captain, LeBron James. He should win the MVP hands down.
