Honorable Mention:

Bam Adebayo:

2019: Adebayo averaged 8.9 points, 7.3 rebounds and 2.2 assists per contest.

2020: Adebayo  is averaging 16.2 points, 10.5 rebounds and 5.1 assists per game. If he can develop a three-point shot, he would be the perfect “stretch 5” for the Miami Heat.

Top 5 Nominees:

5) Shai Gilgeous -Alexander, Oklahoma City Thunder:

The Oklahoma City Thunder have a record of 40-24. A big part of their success has been Alexander. He leads the Thunder averaging 19.3 points per game. He is also pitching in with  6.1 rebounds and 3.3 assists per contest. Alexander could develop into an elite, all-star, shooting guard.

4) Brandon Ingram, New Orleans Pelicans:

Ingram has found a home in New Orleans. He is averaging 24.3 points, 6.3 rebounds and 4.3 assists per game. He is only 22 years old and could be the next Kevin Durant.

3) Jason Tatum, Boston Celtics:

When the Celtics made their last road trip, Tatum was the best player in the NBA.

  • @ Home, Los Angeles Clippers, 39 points, 9 rebounds.
  • @ Minnesota Timberwolves, 28 points, 11 rebounds.
  • @ Portland Trail Blazers, 36 points, 4 rebounds.
  • @ Los Angeles Lakers, 41 points, 5 rebounds.
  • @ Utah Jazz, 33 points, 11 rebounds.

We are watching Tatum become a Boston legend.

2) Luka Doncic, Dallas Mavericks:

Doncic won rookie of the year last season. He is averaging 28 points, 9.3 rebounds and 8.7 assists. He is the most versatile, offensive point guard in the history of the NBA . Magic Johnsons and John Stockton couldn’t score like Luka and Steph Curry didn’t start scoring over 25 points per game till his 7th season in the league.  With Kristaps Porzingis and Doncic, the Dallas Mavericks could be the team of the future.

1) Trae Young, Atlanta Hawks:

During his rookie campaign, Young averaged 19 points per game. This season he has been unstoppable. He is averaging 29 points, 9.3 assists, and 4.3 rebounds. It would be very hard to find a better scoring point guard in the NBA. In just his second season, Young is the most improved player in the league.
