James Dolan: The Worst Owner in Sports

The New York Knicks have a record of 10-35. The Knicks are 14th in the Eastern Conference. The only team worse than the Knicks are the 9-39, Cleveland Cavaliers.
Knicks fans will tell you to be patient or “This is a rebuilding year.” My response, “When isn’t a rebuilding year?”

Over the past 5 seasons, New York has a record of:

37-45
17-65
32-50
31-51
29-53.

Since 2000, the Knicks have won 1 playoff series.

The Knicks are going to miss the playoffs for the 14th time in 19 years.

In 12 years, The Knicks have had 8 coaches:

Larry Brown: Record of 23-59.
Isaiah Thomas: 56-108.
Mike D’Antoni: 121-167.
Mike Woodson: 109-79.
Derek Fisher: 40-96.
Kurt Rambis: 9-19.
Jeff Hornacek: 60-104
David Fizdale: 10-35.

Leadership comes from the top, and James Dolan, The Knicks owner is one of the worst in all of sports. Its been almost 20 years of bad decisions, bad coaching and horrible draft picks
Since 2000, The Knicks have drafted two players who actually made an all-star game. David Lee and Kristaps Porzingis.

The list of Draft failures is a list of journeyman and underachieves on the NBA’s whose who list.

2000 Draft. #22 pick Donnell Harvey
2005 Draft. #8 pick Channing Frye
2006 Draft. #20 pick Renaldo Balkman
2009 Draft. #8 pick Jordan Hill
2011 Draft. #17 pick Iman Shumpert
2015 Draft. #4 pick Kristaps Porzingis
2017 Dart. #8 pick Frank Ntilikina

When you look at the successful teams in the NBA, they have all build championship teams through the draft. The Spurs, Warriors, Cavaliers, Lakers and the Miami Heat all had their core players drafted. Yes, you can add through free agency but the draft is the most important tool teams have. The Knicks continue to fail in this area. Not one player listed above has ever had long-term success in the NBA.

Madison Square Garden is known as “The Mecca of Basketball” but Dolan has slowly destroyed this franchise and basketball in New York City. The Knicks Hastag on twitter is #NewYorkForever . Once again, this failed season, feels like it has gone on forever.

As a life long Knicks fan I can only hope he sells the team because no one wants to play for a dysfunctional, losing owner.
