Stepping on the field in Daytona Beach for day two of National Bowl practice it took about 5 minutes to notice #75, Devante Ford. Ford who comes in at 5’10 and 330 pounds stands out but not just for his size but his play as well. He has a great burst off the ball and has no problem holding his ground in one on one or when being doubled team. The nose tackle out of Delaware Valley University is a throwback a true run stopper with quick feet. No matter what new fads come in the NFL the games are won or lost at the line of scrimmage, just ask the Dallas Cowboys. I had the pleasure of sitting down with Devante and talking about football and life after the game as well. He is a very humble kid and looking for a chance to prove himself on the next level. Playing in the MAC conference he made himself know to opposing offenses.  A two-time All-MAC conference player the future is bright and I will be following him along his journey. NFL teams who are sick of seeing their teams get run over each week may want to give him a look. Checking the Defensive linemen boxes he has the burst, quick feet, and strength. Never quitting and setting goals is what makes you a dream chaser and is what this series is all about. Follow Devante on Twitter @Vante71 and see him in action here! https://t.co/VGGb8anwMc

Joe (Cartright) Cardoso here! I’m the epitome of a sports junkie. An alum of the College of Southern Maryland, I received a diploma from the Maryland Institute of Broadcasting (MIB). During my tenure at MIB, I was a news/sports major and had the opportunity to intern at Fox 45 sports and Ravens Radio. I also worked as an overnight board operator for Sports Talk 980 ESPN Radio. I’ve been a total sports fanatic pretty much from the womb. My first love is soccer followed by basketball and then football. My favorite athletes are Kevin Garnett and Marino Rivera and my sports teams are the Yankees, Redskins, Michigan, Wizards, and Chelsea. My passion for sports is never ending. My sister once commented that I would probably follow pig racing if it was a sport! I had to agree. Nuts and Bolts Sports is a HUGE deal to me. It brings together others who share my obsession and love for everything sports and fulfills a life-long dream to bring sports news to fans my way.
