College Football: 5 Things We Learned About Week 11

5) We see you Minnesota:
For the first time since 1904, The #17 Minnesota Gophers are 9-0. MN dominated #4 Penn State from start to finish and won the game 31-26. Penn State threw three interceptions. You can’t win, on the road, turning the ball over like that.

P.J Fleck has turned this program around rather quickly. But this is what he does. His first year at Western Michigan he was 1-11. Four years later his program was 13-1. This was the biggest win in the history of their universities history. The Gophers have great WR’s a very good quarterback and very good team speed.
They still have to play at Iowa, at NorthWestern and at home against Wisconsin. Minnesota is on a collision course with undefeated, Ohio State in the Big-10 Championship Game. USC should go after Fleck at the end of the year.

4) Why do we keep forgetting about Clemson?:

Clemson hasn’t lost a game in two years. Dabo Swinney has been to 4 straight Final Four Playoffs, and appeared in 3 of the last 4 National Championship Games, winning two of them. Yet the playoff committee has them ranked 5th in the country. LSU’s offense is getting a ton of praise but Clemson is averaging 545.4 yards and 46 points per game. This is a team that is very well coached and has the best offense in the country. They will be playing for a National Championship again, come January.

3) Is Ohio State unstoppable?
The Buckeyes were up 42-0 at halftime before defeating Maryland, 73-14. In 6 of their 9 wins, OSU has scored more than 42 points. This is hyperbole, Ohio State could scored 90 points next week against Rutgers.

2) The Bulldogs are gaining momentum:
Georgia dominated Missouri, 27-0. They still have to play Auburn, Texas A&M and Georgia Tech. Georgia hasn’t looked dominant or great all season long, but, they keep winning. They will face LSU in the SEC Championship game.

1) LSU dominates Alabama
LSU went into Tuscaloosa and dominated the Alabama Crimson Tide from start to finish. The Tigers won 46-41, but they were never in jeopardy of losing the game. Joe Burrow threw for 393 yards and had 3 touchdown passes. Clyde Edwards-Helaire rushed for 103 yards and had 3 touchdowns as well. This LSU offense is almost unstoppable. Nick Saban had no answers for the Tigers.

Bonus Coverage:

Alabama should not be ranked in the Top 7 After their loss to LSU.

#20 Cincinnati won 48-3 over Connecticut. They are 8-1 and no one outside of Ohio knows about this team.

Top 7 Rankings:

7) Utah
6) Oklahoma
5) Georgia
4) Oregon
3) Clemson
2) Ohio State
1) LSU
