Championship Boxing: Pacquiao vs Thurman And Plant vs Lee

MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas, Nevada on July 20th

Publicity and drama have always been boxing’s lifelines.

Stagnancy is no good for The Sweet Science.

Like him or not, the reality is Floyd Mayweather, Jr. brought a much needed boost to boxing when he fought Manny Pacquiao and Conor McGregor.

Canelo vs GGG 1 rode the coattails of that boost because lets face it, Saul Canelo Álvarez and Gennady GGG Golovkin can’t hold a candle to Mayweather publicity wise.

The fact that their first bout ended in a controversial decision was actually good because as I said before drama is good for boxing, but the fact that their second encounter pretty much ended the same way as the first had boxing fans quickly responding to any talk about a Canelo vs GGG 3 bout,

“Nobody’s going to pay money to see that crap again!

Which leaves the up coming July 20th fight card between Manny Pacquiao vs Keith Thurman and Caleb Plant vs Mike Lee, after recent boxing event as a Must See Show.

Keith Thurman will be fighting eight time division champion Manny Pacquiao and Undefeated IBF Super Middleweight World Champion Caleb Plant will face Mike Lee.

As always yours truly relies on the expert opinions of true boxing consiglieres:

“Plant and Manny by Decision”, Cheap Seats Boxing.

“Love Plant the guy can flat out scrap & the stuff he’s been through has been brutal so I root for a guy like him! As Far Thurman – Pacquiao, I know Keith thinks he hand picked Manny for the payday, I really feel Manny picked Keith because he knows he can’t beat Bud & Spence!”, Cuban Lion.

“Plant by Unanimous Decision…Keith by Split Decision”, Ryan Foley.
