Let’s do this , Again!!!

Alvarez and Golovkin battled to a controversial draw last September in what was one of boxing’s best fights in 2017.

Will the one-year layoff affect Alvarez or will he put on a legendary performance? Can Golovkin control his emotions from the last 12 months and prove why he is the greatest middleweight of all time?

Gennady Golovkin and Canelo Alvarez will finally settle the score this September 15th, after their first fight went to a controversial majority draw.

Some of Sweet Science best fans make their predictions:

“Almost a year to the date (364 days) of when they fought their 1st epic but yet controversial bout in which I picked Canelo but felt GGG won they will go at it again! I pick Canelo again but this time it is because GGG now at 36 is year older,a year slower & Canelo will make the adjustments !Why ? Because he knows in his heart of hearts he lost the 1st battle! Canelo by TKO in 11!” Lion Cuban

“After the controversial draw last September in their first fight and with all the controversy outside the ring in the lead up to the rematch between WBC and WBA middleweight champion Gennady “GGG” Golovkin and Saul “Canelo” Alvarez it’s easy to lose sight that, even though most believe Golovkin deserved the victory, many questions are still left unanswered heading into the rematch on September 15 in Las Vegas…”, Cheap Seats Boxing, “Question number one: Has age finally caught up to the 36 year old Golovkin? Many a great fighter no matter the skill have shown a deterioration after the age of 35. Now at the age of 36 and having been a fighter has been enrolled in the Volunteer Anti Doping Agency’s clean boxing program through the WBC he has shown the signs of aging so will this make the rematch an even closer fight.”

“GGG has tasted Canelo’s power and knows he can handle it. He’s coming into this fight even more motivated and hungry. I look for GGG to come out strong but he will also give him angles to put him in better position to land power punches. I have GGG by decision.”, George Lopez

“Question number two: Will Alvarez show the growth he did after his only defeat on record against Floyd Mayweather? Yes Canelo was only 22 for that fight so he should have shown growth since, but it seemed like his learning curve was rapidly increased after that loss. I believe that whatever your criticism of Alvarez is, you can not deny that he is an intelligent fighter who has seemed to learn and adjust not only in fight but throughout his career

And question number three: With the two failed drug tests from Canelo in February, which he was suspended for and pushed this rematch from May to September, change the approach to the fight as it seems like the animosity between to two fighters has increased. If either fighter let’s the animosity take them out of their respective game plans and they start to look for the knockout then it will be to their own detriment.

I believe the answer to questions one and two are yes and no to question three, for those reasons I believe Canelo Alvarez will be victorious in the rematch and not because of a suspect decision but because of his growth from the first fight to the rematch and the age of Golovkin doing him no favors. All that said this should be a very close fight even more so than the “draw” from last September and anyone who pays whatever price tag is on the ppv should get their money’s worth.”, Cheap Seats Boxing

“We are a day away from the much anticipated rematch between Canelo Alvarez and Gennady Golovkin and there’s your normal rhetoric and tough talk. But, if you’re looking for the second coming of Alexis Arguello-Aaron Pryor, you’ll be disappointed… again.”, Making The Cut with Mook
