The upcoming bout between Shakur Stevenson against Felix Caraballo is to be held on Tuesday Night, June 9th, which is strange, however, I’m one-hundred percent in favor of Boxing combatants having success in any and all their endeavors.
They’re swimming among sharks and if this event gives Mom-Pop Sponsors as well as the fighters best exposure available then…I enthusiastically give it Two Thumbs Way Up!
Plus us fans have to adapt to this New Normal, anyway. In the short term, things will look different as these scheduled events are adhering to social distancing guidelines and will take place without audiences or press in an effort to minimize any risks associated with the events.
WBO featherweight world titleholder Shakur Stevenson (13-0, 7 KOs) is moving up to junior lightweight to face Felix Caraballo (13-1-2, 9 KOs). This will headline a full, 6-card fight that can be viewed on ESPN and ESPN Deportes.
This will be Stevenson’s first time in the ring since capturing the vacant title in a unanimous decision win over Joet Gonzales.
It’s been their plan Top Rank is going Tuesday & Thursday for the next month plus ESPN+ has others on Saturdays as well
