Major televised sporting events have returned to the Dunkin’ Donuts Center this summer in downtown Providence, Rhode Island.

And The Dunk welcomed the professional 3-on-3 basketball league, which format has basically captured everyone’s attention in just three years!

“We’re one of only three non-NBA arenas that will host the BIG3”, said a very excited Dunkin’ Donuts Center general manager Larry Lepore.

The BIG3 is all about entertainment, fast pace competition and access to their players and coaches. The on location sideline interviews are one of its most popular features and it just has a welcome to the party vibe.

All together the BIG3 is an undeniably good recipe.

Coach Nancy Lieberman and reigning champion Power looked to rebound from their first loss of the season on Saturday afternoon.

Power captain Corey Maggette – who made his Season 3 debut in Providence – proved to be too much. The 2018 BIG3 MVP jumped right back into form, pouring in 23 points, grabbing 15 boards and leading Power to its third victory on the season 50 – 36.

Glen ‘Big Baby’ Davis – who was ejected in Week 3, scored Power’s final four points to help secure the victory, including a game-winning under-the-basket layup, which brought the New England crowd to its feet.

Aliens have established a toughness in the low post this season, anchored by first-year player Greg Oden. The big man was dominating down low once again, but the Enemies responded with strong teamwork, ball movement and contributions from Craig Smith and Gilbert Arenas.

Ultimately the Enemies’ mix of hard drives and open jump shots propelled them to their third consecutive win.

Enemies continue their winning streak and are now 3 – 1, while Aliens fall to 1 – 3.

Rhode Island’s final matchup featured two squads hungry for their first win of the season, 3’s Company versus Ball Hogs.

3’s Company earned their first win of the season behind Andre Emmett, who provided a strong spark off the bench and solid contributions from Jason Maxiell and Dahntay Jones.

The Ball Hogs -now 0 – 4 and will look to snatch their first win of the season next week in Oklahoma City.
