The NFL trade deadline came and went, but the Philadelphia Eagles did not make a single move at its’ conclusion and it ended with a whimper.
Taking into account the Philadelphia Eagles lack of action, one can assume that,
1. They felt that there wasn’t anybody available worthwhile – and if there was!, the asking price was too much, and…
2. As I previously said the week before, the Philadelphia Eagles will probably decide that they will make their stand with the personnel they have now on their roster.
My generation – and the ones before mine! grew up in the type of adversity and turmoil that the second is surely to bring, so we are already fully buckled up.
It is fitting that the Chicago Bears are either on the path to recovery or of more heartache.
Former Philadelphia Eagles head coach – may he always rest in peace, Buddy Ryan brought lots of his staff and players from Chicago to Philly when he first got the position, so there is a great kinship between Eagles and Bears’ fans from that era.
Buddy was an opinionated-throwback, tough old son of a gun.
His controversial character and all the feuds he had with the media, front office – including former Philadelphia Eagles owner Norman Braman eventually got him fired, but the players absolutely loved him.
If you think Rex Ryan is or can be a pain in the butt, he is nothing compared to the genuine article.
The Philadelphia Eagles offensive and defensive contributions must continue in order for the team to remain succesful.
Eagles felt that they – couldn’t or didn’t need to make any upgrades at the wide receiver or defensive back positions, the rest of the season will determine how fatal that decision was.
Players To Watch?
QB-Mitchell Trubinsky, Chicago Bears and QB-Carson Wentz, Philadelhia Eagles.
Everybody in the whole world has been dumping on Trubinsky, but the Bears appear to have decided that he will be the starter for the remainder of the year nonetheless.
Trubinsky can not play any worse than he has already and the Eagles’ defense has made it a habit to give up big plays on passing coverage.
Carson Wentz did not have to be exceptional in order for Eagles to win last week and that’s a good thing, however, CW will have to be exceptional more often than not the rest of the way.
Steve Young faced the predicament of having to deal with the legend of Joe Montana early in his career but ultimately was able to overcome it.
Carson Wentz has the very same obstacle in front him, the legend of Nick Foles.
