The Tennessee Titans will travel to Kansas City to take on the Chiefs.
When: Sunday, January 19th, 3:05 PM.
Where: CBS TV.
Point Spread: The Chiefs are favored by 7.5 points.
What if I told you, a starting quarterback in the NFL, threw for 72 and 88 yards in back-to-back weeks. This quarterback’s team not only went 2-0, in those games, but they dominated from start to finish. Over the past 2 weeks, Ryan Tannehill has completed 15 total passes for 160 yards. The Titans beat the Patriots and Ravens as road underdogs. Derrick Henry should win the MVP of the NFL. Against the Patriots and Ravens he rushed for 182 and 195 yards. Henry looks like a man playing against grammar school children.
Here is a mock video of Henry rushing over the competition.
Tennessee’s defense has been outstanding. They have been the ultimate,“bend but don’t break” unit. They gave up 13 points to Tom Brady and the Patriots and gave up 12 points to the number one offense in the NFL with Lamar Jackson and the Baltimore Ravens.
The Kansas City Chiefs were trailing 24-0 in their divisional round playoff game. Kansas City did not panic, they went out and outscored the Houston Texans, 51-7, the rest of the game. Patrick Mahomes was 31 for 52 for 321 yards and he threw for 5 touchdown passes. Travis Kelce was a receiving machine. He had 10 catches for 134 yards and 3 touchdowns. The Chiefs rushed for 97 yards but 57 of those yards came on the legs of their quarterback. Kansas City’s defense wasn’t great by any standards but they had 5 sacks and only gave up 7 points in the 2nd half.
This is a tale of two teams who are totally opposite. The Chiefs want to throw 40-50 times per game. Andy Reid believes in winning with offense, Mike Vrable believes in winning by running the ball and playing great defense. The Chiefs scored 51 points with their number 1 option, Tyreek Hill, being a non-factor. Hill had 3 insignificant catches for 41 yards and they won easily. The Titans have had a tremendous playoff run, but they are too conservative to outscore KC. I think Henry puts up numbers but this is a vertical passing league. Take the high powered offense here. The Chiefs will advance to the Super Bowl for the first time since, January 11, 1970.
Chiefs win 33-23
