The 11-5, New England Patriots will travel to Kansas City to take on the 12-4, Chiefs. Andy Reid’s team is a 3 points favorite and the game will be Sunday 6:40 PM on CBS. It is going to be sub-artic temperatures. Early reports are suggesting it will be under 10 degrees during kickoff. This is a rematch from week 6. The Patriots won 43-40 at home. That was the 5th highest scoring game in the NFL this year.

The Patriots:

Many of the so called “experts” have said this was a down year for the Patriots. They finished the season 11-5 and they were 1 terrible play away from having home-field advantage throughout the playoffs. If it weren’t for a last second loss to the Dolphins, this game would be in New England.

New England dominated the 12-4, Los Angeles Chargers, from start to finish. The Patriots won 41-28 but the game was over after the first quarter. Rookie, Sony Michel, carried the ball 24 times for 129 yards and 3 touchdowns. Tom Brady threw for 343 yards, James White and Julian Edelman had 24 combined receptions.

The Chiefs:

There was a lot of talk before last weeks divisional round matchup, that the Colts were the best team in the AFC. Indianapolis won 9 out of 10 games to make the playoffs. They were never in the game against Kansas City. The Chiefs won 31-13. Quarterback, Patrick Mahomes, wasn’t great but he did enough. The former Texas Tech star threw for 278 yards, Damien Williams rushed for 129 yards and Travis Kelce and Tyreek Hill had 15 catches for over 180 combined yards.

Prediction:

The temperature Sunday night is expected to be around 10 degrees. Cold weather never affects the Patriots. Brady is 24 and 4 when the temperature is below freezing and 13-2 in the playoffs when there is inclement weather. Sony Michel is the best running back the Patriots have had since Brady took over the starting postion. Brady and Michel will carry them to a 9th Super Bowl appearance.

New England 30… Chiefs 26.
