The 12-0 Notre Dame Fighting Irish will take on the 13-0 Clemson Tigers Saturday, December 29th at 4:00 PM Eastern. Clemson is heading back to the Final Four for the 3rd year in a row.
Notre Dame returns for the first time since 2012. Clemson is a 12.5 point favorite.

The Tigers:
Clemson’s offense has really started to peak at the right time. Over their past 8 games they are averaging 45.6 points per game.
Freshman quarterback, Trevor Lawrence has lived up to all of the pre-season hype. He has completed 65% of his passes, has 30 total touchdowns and only 4 interceptions.
Running back, Travis Etienne has been this teams most valuable player. The Sophomore is averaging 8.3 yards per carry, rushed for 1,463 yards and 21 touchdowns.
Clemson’s wide receivers have depth. Hunter Renfro is fourth on the team with 43 catches. He should be one of the best players on the field Saturday. He always comes up big in playoff games. Tee Higgins led the team with 802 yards and 10 TDs.

The Tigers defense has been solid all year. They are only giving up 13.7 points per game and they have elite speed at almost every position. Clelin Ferrell led the team with
45 total tackles, 17 tackles for a loss and 10.5 sacks. This front 4 can dominate any game from start to finish. The Tigers are preparing to be without the anchor of their defense. Dexter Lawrence, 6’4″, 350-pound space-eater has had a great career. He has 141 career tackles and 11 sacks. He will be suspended for this final four matchup for NCAA violations.

The Fighting Irish:
Notre Dame’s offense has really taken off since Ian Book got comfortable under center. He finished the season completing 70% of his passes, 23 total touchdowns and 6 interceptions.
Dexter Williams led the team, rushing for 941 yards and had 12 TD’s
Wide Receiver, Miles Boykin had 803 yards and 8 TD’s

Notre Dame is giving up 17.3 points per game, they have been good not great on defense.

Clemson losing Clelin Ferrell will hurt a lot. But, fortunately for Dabo Swinney, he has depth at every position. Both teams will have a trick or gimmick play. Look for a fake punt, FG or onside kick from either squad. Brian Kelly is a great coach but I give a slight edge to Dabo Swinney.

Quarterback Trevor Lawrence is the closet thing we have to a bio-engineered quarterback that was built in the laboratory. He is built for games like this. Clemson’s stars will outplay Notre Dame’s stars. Look for Lawrence to throw for over 300 yards, Etienne will rush for over 120 yards and Renfro will have several third down catches to keep drives alive.

Dabo and Clemson roll here.

Clemson 34 Notre Dame 17.
