Week 14 In the NFL….What Teams Am I Buying/Selling?

With the holiday season upon us, people are filling the malls to shop day and night. My theme for week 14 in the NFL is buying and selling. What teams will I buy for the remainder of the year, what teams will I sell.

Here are 5 things the Sports Whisperer learned about Week 14.

#5) The Pack is back!: If you criticized Arron Rodgers ( Colin Cowherd, Steven A. Smith and Skip Bayless) Shame on you!  The Green Bay Packers dominated the Seattle Seahawks 38-10. Rodgers was 18-23 for 246 yards and 3 touchdowns and a rating of 150.8. Rodgers had the same amount of incompletions that Seattle QB, Russell Wilson had interceptions…5. Rodgers is leading the league in touchdown passes with 32 and has played his way into the MVP conversation. The Packers play the Bears, Vikings, and Detroit in their last 3 games. I am buying stock in the Packers. I never jumped off their and bandwagon and If you remember, I had Rodgers winning the MVP in a pre-season article. Haters be gone. The Pack should make the playoffs for their 8th straight year.

#4) Cowboys only two losses this year have come by the way of the New York Giants: I am selling my stock in the Cowboys. What was predicted by the Sports Whisperer, a few weeks ago, has come to fruition! Teams have gotten film and studied tendencies on QB, Dak Prescott, and he has struggled big time. Over the last three games, he has thrown for 195, 139 and 165 yards. What is even more disturbing about his downward spiral is the fact that he has made Pro-Bowl wide receiver Dez Bryant irrelevant. Over the last three games, Bryant has had 5,4 and 1 reception. The Cowboys have a good defense and a great running game but their rookie QB is not making plays anymore. If the Cowboys want to compete for a Super Bowl, this year, they must get Romo healthy and make him the starter. Sell your stock!

3) Jeff Fisher finally got fired: I have been calling for Fisher to be terminated for the past two years. In 22 years of coaching he has never won a Super Bowl and has had 6 winning seasons in 22 years. The Rams moved this year to Los Angeles and have a young quarterback in Jared Goff and running back Todd Gurley. I will buy stock in the Rams if they hire Michigan Head Coach Jim Harbaugh. The fans of Los Angeles deserve a smart hire. Jim Harbaugh would be my 1st, 2nd, and 3rd choice. But, knowing the history of this organization, I wouldn’t be surprised if they hire Rex Ryan when he gets fired from Buffalo.

2) Selling my stock on Jamies Winston, Buying my stock in Marcus Mariota. Both the Tampa Bay Buccaneers and the Tennessee Titans are battling for a playoff spot. Both Mariota and Winston struggled this past weekend and were fortunate to get a win. The difference was Winston struggled against one of the NFL’s worst defenses in the Saints. Against a defense that is ranked 31st in the league, Winston threw for 184 years. I am selling his stock. Mariota struggled to get anything going against the Denver Broncos and will likely struggle again next week when the Titans face the Kansas City Chiefs. The good news for Tennessee is they close at Jacksonville and at home against Houston. The Titans could be playing for a playoff spot in the last week of the season. For a team that has struggled for years and has a below average coach, That is a huge step in the right direction. I am buying stock in the Titans.

1) Tom Brady is there anything he can’t do: Against the Baltimore Ravens one of the best defenses in the NFL, Brady threw four 406 yards and 3 touchdowns. Brady has now become the all-time winningest quarterback in the history of the NFL. Brady has won 202 games and that number could reach 250 when all is said and done. That record will never be broken. We are looking at a feat that is up there with Wilt Chamberlain’s 100 points in a game. For a QB to beat Brady’s record he must average 11 wins per season, for 20 years. I will buy Brady and the Patriots stock every year until they both retire.

Bonus Coverage:

Washington quarterback Kirk Cousins in 5 career starts has a 4-1 record vs the Eagles. 124/195 (63.5%),1,579 yards, 13 TD’s and 3 interceptions. It Looks like they have their franchise QB.

Sell your stock on the Dolphins. It looks like Ryan Tannehill may miss some time due to a knee injury. The Dolphins are saying they are cautiously optimistic. Miami is  a slightly above average team but they  won’t make the playoffs.

As predicted by the Sports Whisperer when he was hired. Rex Ryan will be fired within 3 years. I doubt very much that the Bills will bring him back. Memo to Rex.. talk less, win more.
