Philadelphia Eagles’ O-Line

Philadelphia Eagles' offensive line...Jason Peters, Halapoulivaati Vaitai, Stefen Wisniewski Jason Kelce, Brandon Brooks and Lane Johnson

“All right, so: February 4th (was!), Super Bowl…What’s everybody been up to since?”, Jason Kelce.

There is no position in the National Football League like offensive lineman. If a wide receiver drops five passes, but still manages to catch two touchdowns…he had good game!

If an offensive lineman plays 70 good snaps, but gives up a sack…he is terrible!

That’s the life they live. You do not get notice until you mess up.

Offensive lineman are overlooked bodyguards, only shown attention when skill position players reward them with expensive gifts, like Philly QB Carson Wentz has done for the last couple years.

Jason Kelce is known in Eagles Nation for temper tantrums and his most famous one to date came when he stood, fully dress in a multicolored leprechaun mummer’s custom and aired all of his grievances at the top of the Philly’s Liberty Steps.

“When he came up with the mummer’s outfit”, Brandon Brooks, “You knew it was going to be a special day…”.

“…the NFL is such a stressful environment, you have to have laughter with the pain”, Lane Johnson, “If you don’t, you’re going to go crazy.”

What else could be more fun nowadays than being a Philadelphia Eagles’ lineman?

They’re the engine which propelled the Eagles’ to their first Super Bowl ever!

Two weeks after offensive lineman Jason Peters went down for the season, the Eagles’ won seven of the next nine games and after Carson Wentz tore his ACL in Week 14, the line insulated his backup Nick Foles initiating their historic march through the playoffs.

The O-Line synced into a silent count against New England during the Super Bowl and in spite of every effort by the Patriots, Nick Foles was never sacked.

They can no longer claim being underdogs and it will be impossible to catch last season’s magic, but these hounds will find another way to stay hungry.
