College Football’s Top 25: Post Week 5

By: Kristen Ashly

Week 5 proved to be a crazy week for college football fans of ranked teams. Florida hammered on Ole Miss, and Alabama destroyed Georgia — in Athens, no less. Clemson put a stop to Notre Dame in the nick of time, and Michigan embarrassed Maryland for the Wolverines’ second consecutive shutout.

The weeks solidified the idea that every conference is open for the taking. In the Big Ten, Northwestern could very well make a conference title game and Ohio State could legitimately not. In the Pac-12, Cal and Utah are playing next week with real league title dreams at stake. Or look to the SEC, where Alabama still smells like a playoff contender.
